Reflection 1/12/2012
Started on my sketches but wish i got further and I hop to finish them next week
Breakdown
January: Sketch out ideas, start putting together base, sculpting necessary things/making sure certain things work.
February: Start adding textures like grass, flowers, stream, etc.
March: Work on clouds, sky, and lighting.
April: Render and work on playblast of wind blowing through grass if have time, if not do a turntable.
Proposel
I want to make a meadow. It will have flowers, grass, a stream, some hills, and it will be during late morning. The grass should look as if there is a breeze blowing through it as well as the flowers. On top of a hill there will be a large tree in the middle ground of the meadow. It will also have a blue sky with some wispy clouds.
I want it to look as real as possible when rendered. That is why I picked the pieces I did. All of the pictures look realistic. I picked the clips I did for that reason also. Not to mention the one from 'Tangled' kills me every time I watch it. I want it to look like a picture when it is finally rendered in April.

Art analysis
'Flowers on the meadow'
by Flyingrae from deviantart.com
this piece is of a meadow at sunrise covered in daisies awith mountain/hills in the background and partly cloudy skies.
The small curves in the meadow make is seem more real. Also the grass is not standing straight up and neither are the flowers which makes it look as if their is a slight breeze. Everything is colored realistically too. The parts in shadow are darker then those being hit by the sun light. Their is also a light haze over the mountains and clouds which could be mist. It has great depth and the picture makes the meadow seem large. Although I can't tell if the sun is proportioned because or the brightness and rays coming off the sun.
The artist wanted to learn how to model, texture, and compose natural environments. (description under pic on deviantart)
The mood is calm and, personally, makes me feel as if i just woke up and am a bit dazed and sleepy. It reminds me of waking up to see the sunrise when I go camping. Its very tranquil, with nothing conflicting in the picture and the haze of the background again makes you feel as if you just woke up and are dozing looking at the scene.
I like the picture/screen shot of this meadow. Its very realistic. Not to mention it is very pretty. Funny as it sounds it makes me feel cold instead of warm though. But that may just be me. It still reminds me of waking up when I camp or go to our family cabin. We wake up early and the mountains are all misty and the grass is covered with dew, but their is no wind, and its very calming, but still cold until the sun rises to a certain height.
I want to make a natural looking environment like a valley, forest, meadow, beach, etc. This is a good example of a realistic looking natural environment and it gave me some ideas on what details I want to include in my environment.
